What is a Credit Union?

  • A credit union is a not-for-profit cooperative financial institution serving groups of people who have "something in common." That common bond can be a place of work, a community, or an association.

  • A credit union's members are the owners. As an owner, you have a voice. Officers, directors, and committee members are volunteers elected by the credit union membership and serve without pay.

  • A credit union's sole purpose is to serve our members, in good times or in bad. All of the benefits of membership are derived from that single purpose.
