Lincoln County Credit Union Privacy Notice

Lincoln County Credit Union is owned by its members and run by a volunteer board of directors you elect. You can be confident that your financial privacy is a top priority. We are providing you this privacy notice to explain how we collect, use and safeguard your personal finances. If you have any questions, please contact a member services representative at 406-293-7771.

We are committed to providing you with competitive products and services to meet your financial needs. In order to do so, we occasionally make arrangements with companies that provide either services to us or additional financial products for you to consider.

Under these circumstances, we may disclose all of the information we collect, as described below, to companies that perform marketing or other services on our behalf or to other financial institutions with whom we have joint marketing agreements. To protect our members’ privacy, we work only with companies that agree to maintain complete confidentiality. We do not allow these companies to sell to third parties the information we provide to them.

What we do
 
How does LCCU protect my personal information? To protect your personal information from unauthorized access and use, we use security measures that comply with federal law. These measures include computer safeguards and secured files and buildings.

Our employees are trained in the importance of maintaining confidentiality and member privacy.

 
How does LCCU collect my personal information?

 

We collect your personal information, for example, when you
  • open an account or deposit money
  • pay your bills or apply for a loan
  • use your credit card or debit card

We also collect your personal information from others, such as credit bureaus.

 
Why can’t I limit all sharing? Federal law gives you the right to limit only 
  • sharing for affiliates’ everyday business purposes—information about your creditworthiness
  • affiliates from using your information to market to you
  • sharing for nonaffiliates to market to you 

State laws and individual companies may give you additional rights to limit sharing.

What happens when I limit sharing for an account I hold jointly with someone else?

Your choices will apply to everyone on your account.
Definitions
Affiliates Companies related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfi nancial companies. 
  • LCCU has no affiliates
Nonaffiliates Companies not related by common ownership or control. They can be financial and nonfinancial companies.
  • Nonaffilliates we share with can include our statement processor, data processor, check printer, and ATM and debit/credit card processor

Joint marketing A formal agreement between nonaffi liated financial companies that together market financial products or services to you.
  • Our joint marketing partners include other financial companies such as CUNA Mutual Group.
